After the American war of Independence, many Loyalists moved to the Eastern Townships. It was in 1840 that la Maison d'Émilie was built. It sheltered the field workers in the employ of the largest far at the time, “Paramount Farm”. It was not until 1990 that la Maison d'Émilie changed its vocation to a bed and breakfast, providing much pleasure to all that came to find relaxation in the vicinity of Sutton's wonderful history. |
